Applied Cryptography Home

Overview

  1. The course is an online course. Lessons will be assigned during weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 14 and a quiz on those lessons will be taken at the end of weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, during the beginning of week 14, and during the beginning of finals week.
  2. The lessons will be posted in the Current Lessons section on the Lessons page of the course website. A lesson consists of the lesson (PDF), one or more web lessons (PDF and audio files) that cover the most important parts of the lesson, and homework solutions (PDF).
  3. The lessons should be done in the order they appear in the Current Lessons section of the Lessons page.
  4. Each quiz will be worth 50 points and will cover the lessons posted in the Current Lessons section of the Lessons page. Quizzes will be given on Brightspace. You will have 75 minutes to complete a quiz and submit your written work. The first 60 minutes is for taking the quiz, and the final 15 minutes is for making one or more PDF files of your written work, adding the PDF(s) to the quiz responses, and submitting the quiz.
  5. A discussion forum will be available on Brightspace as a place to ask questions, discuss problems, and build a class community.
  6. Live online help (individual or group) will be available upon request using web conferencing software.
  7. Help will also be available via email.
  8. See the Help page or the Getting Help section of the syllabus for instructions on obtaining help.
  9. The policies and guidelines of the course appear in the syllabus. Students are required to download, read, and understand this document.
