Fun Knot Theory

A Fast, Strong, Topologically Meaningful and Fun Knot Invariant

A new and powerful knot invariant (used to determine if two knots are the same or different) is presented in this wonderful paper. Best of all, the invariant is fun. Check out the figures in the paper for proof of that fact.

It is likely that few associate mathematics with fun, but fun it is. I'll give this paper a 1 on the mathematics fun index. This might seem like a bad rating, but the fun index ranges from -1 to 1. A negative rating means not fun, the 0 rating means neither fun nor not fun (love that), and a positive rating means fun. The final arbiter of all rating disputes is Betty the Wise and Just.
