Influence of high-latitude blocking and the northern stratospheric polar vortex on cold-air outbreaks under Arctic amplification of global warming

The warming of the Arctic appears to be an important contributor to severe cold-air outbreaks in winter in the Northern Hemisphere midlatitude regions in Eurasia and North America. The irony of this is delicious.
